I have 8th graders learning to read and retain information and we use story annotation frequently. My 10th graders are learning US History and my 11th graders are learning Political Science. In each of these classes, displays of documents and text are frequent. My students need a lot of assistance in reading for understanding. While they can certainly read the words, they cannot often tell me the meaning of the text. I want to help them better understand what they read and put that into action.
