There are countless apps and programs that can be accessed through an iPad. With iPads, students would be able to practice fluency, comprehension strategies, vocabulary, and sentence building skills. Apps, such as Storybird, will allow students to listen to stories or even use their imagination to create their own story. Many of my students struggle with reading, which leads to frustration and discouragement in the classroom. The last thing I ever want my students to feel is discouraged. I want them to be excited about learning and for them to believe that they can succeed academically. iPads would be used on a daily basis in my classroom. While students practice important reading skills with an iPad, I would also be able to give my undivided attention to other students that severely need my help in differentiated small-group instruction. With iPads, students will then be fully engaged, excited, and motivated to learn in a meaningful way.
