The furniture items will contribute to my classroom's flexible seating arrangement. The futon couch bed, Glow 17"stools, and sofa sack bean bags will allow for students to choose the seats that will fit their needs best and be comfortable. The stools are used for students during guided reading at my back table. The other furniture items, such as the futon and bean bags will be for our class library. Technology will allow for students to integrate online research into classroom projects. Students will be able to utilize the 32GB Apple iPad as a platform to do research for upcoming career projects, explore appropriate apps, and develop skills in technological literacy. The other classroom materials such as scissors, 5 pocket wall file, basketballs, Crayola markers, noise reduction safety ear-muffs, mancala, Jenga, and will allow my students to have tools for their learning throughout the year. Being able to provide resources and materials to my students alleviates any stress for families when they can come into a classroom with everything provided. Students' foci in my classroom will be to become critical thinkers about the world around them while learning how to code switch, see the world through the lens of social justice, and develop lifelong relationships. Having these class materials will assist in our ability to do the aforementioned things.
