I am privileged to teach and learn from children identified as gifted learners. They aren't always motivated by grades, but rather by learning. They play with ideas, inferring and connecting concepts. Because my young scholars enjoy creating, I need to provide them with materials and resources to accomplish this. They're like sponges absorbing and manipulating huge amounts of information, so I strive to keep enough scholarly resources available. Yet they're still children, and with that comes the need to play while learning. Exploring, creating, pondering, building- all come naturally to them. One of my main goals is to help them take what they learn and make connections to their world. As we look at universal concepts, I try to help them with their affective and intellectual growth. It is my honor to facilitate their learning.
