Robotics education is becoming increasingly commonplace in schools. This is largely due to the fact that students in school will graduate into a workforce that is embedded with technology. As technology advances on a daily basis, I believe it is crucial for me to stay on top of my A game, especially with the gifted and talented students that I teach. I feel that students who are engaged and learning using robotics technology will have an advantage that can make them become skillful 21st century learners. If I can learn about robotics then my students will be up to date and incorporate these new skills into the classroom. As a lifelong learner, I hope to instill this in my students and be their role model through this training. If I am funded for this trip, not only will I benefit, but all 54 of my students, which include grades 1st-5th will also benefit.
