Aloha! I am Sylvie Bright and I am the theatre teacher at our school. I have been with Waikoloa Middle school since its inception (2006), and over the years have produced many performances for our entire school. We started with nothing and have build up our program over the years. I am a firm believer that the performing arts have an important function in our schools. I have seen students of all levels and needs blossom, and become contributing members of our community. There are seven types of intelligences or learning modality, and for some students, the performing arts are the only way they can really learn. Put them in a play or ask them to represent concepts through dance, and the magic happens!
