One of our standards is always based on the 7 elements of art and 7 principles of design. One of the elements of art is color. This is difficult to do when many of my students don't have any coloring supplies. Art is also a way for students to keep occupied and relax during these stressful times of the epidemic. It's a wonderful way for them to cope and express themselves during the many changes they have had to take. These supplies will also strengthen their creativity skills, which are useful in any future career. Please help my students explore the world and concrete multidisciplinary concepts through art. We usually have funds for a bulk set of markers, crayons, colored pencils, etc. but students can't use these at home as my district has been distance learning since August. It's very sad that most students don't even have paper and pencils to use. Also, they will use the packs at school if we are allowed back. The individual packs will help to stop the spread of germs. Finally, they will inspire the future scientists, artists, explorers, and other leaders of tomorrow.
