Students will use our new compost bin to better understand the waste process and how we can keep more materials out of our landfills to create a healthier world. Rather than throwing compostable materials in the trash, which creates methane and other greenhouse gasses, students will collect these items and move them to the compost bin. By seeing the materials change from fruits or vegetables to usable material in our outdoor garden, they can take ownership of their actions. Every action matters! What students learn in the classroom can be a change they make at home with their families, affecting their wider community and reducing waste.

About my class
