Our school is a Cohort 1 school for blended learning. We are implementing it before the other schools in our township. During our language and math blocks, students take part in a 3 station rotation where they are engaged in digital learning, collaborative learning, or small group instruction. With the various groupings that are taking place in the classroom, students are required to move around often. It becomes difficult with big, bulky tables in the room. It would be much easier if students had more space for their groups, and if they could just take their seat with them to their next rotation. By eliminating several tables and allowing a variety of seating, students will be more comfortable and have more space as they move about in the room. My students are a very active bunch, and they love to work together at times, and separate at times. Having bean bag chairs, stools, and different types of tables will allow them the flexibility that they need to be successful.
