My students are eager children ready to learn each and every day. I have students that come from various backgrounds that may not get the literacy that they need within their own home. One of the most important things that a child needs, according to research, is to be read to. My students get excited about reading and enjoy locating different phonics chunks within words to help them decode words to read more fluently. They love writing in their response journals to their parents to practice reading, writing, and getting to know their parents on a different level. Our school does everything in their power to help students get to where they need to be academically, in order to become successful citizens that will shape our future in years to come.

About my class
