Many of my students are living among poverty and need a comforting place to come and learn. With flexible seating and an inviting library, I am hoping behavior issues will lessen as their anxieties do. I also hope an inviting classroom helps my students fall even more in love with reading. Our school is filled with many old desks, wobbly chairs and carpet that many students refuse to sit on. I want to offer my students with a home away from home in my classroom. Students are at school more than they are at home anyways, why shouldn't school feel better than home? The goal in providing students with a classroom library is that they will fall in love with reading more and grow their reading scores. By offering a large variety of books, more students can find something they like and on their level. With flexible seating, the goal is to help students feel safe and comfortable. Statistics show when students feel safe and joyful in the classroom, scores will rise.
