I am a special education teacher in a town of about 1700 people in Southern Utah. Our school has about 400 students K-6. My classroom is very hands on, and we use multiple techniques to enhance students learning i.e. computers, tablets, manipulative, tactile, as well as direct instruction. I currently have 26 students in my classroom (not all at the same time) grades 2-6 and one paraprofessional. We make learning fun and engaging for our students. Our goal in my classroom is to help students feel appreciated and loved. We are a positive learning environment where the students identify both their strengths and their weaknesses. We improve the student's strengths and try to eliminate their weaknesses through a positive learning environment. WE give our students a safe place to come where they can learn, dance, and feel comfortable being themselves without being judged by there peers or adults. We love our kids
