My students come from very diverse backgrounds. Some come from parents who are not legally in the country; some are legally here but are new to our customs. On he other hand, others come from influential parents. Interestingly, most of them are very eager to learn about all the possibilities of visiting the places we study and about the different cultures they would experience. It's hard to bring their studies alive for them if they cannot experience it in color as they research and prepare to tell their classmates of their findings.
