We are a third grade classroom located in a diverse area. I love coming to school and hearing about the different backgrounds and cultures my student have. I love giving them the opportunity to share their story with us. This project will help those students, disconnected from their roots, learn more and give it a purpose. They will get to put themselves in some of the cities their families came from and tell us all about the culture. Our school is a Title I school in a low income area. Many of the students do not know where they will sleep when they go home each night and the only consistency in their life is coming to school. If you ask my students if we are just a classroom they will reply "No, we are a family. Ohana."
