We are a south east Florida middle school , located in a town with one of the highest foreclosure rates in the USA! My students are without many of the basic supplies needed for daily lessons. Our district is not able to buy Science lab supplies so we make do with materials that can be gathered from home or very low cost. Last year we were able through grants to start an aquaponics program which made a huge impact on student learning, attendance, and positive attitudes.The students have often asked to be able to do dissection labs, and have been disappointed due to lack of funding.
