Students in my classroom are raised in a high poverty home, the students that surround them at school are in the same situation. A school who resists excuses is located in an area that is labeled "highest poverty". In a situation where the teachers, staff and everyone working with these students day in and day out could have a list long of excuses on why it would not work, we do the opposite. We make the list of why it has to work. For some we are the only ones in their corner.
