My students are six years old and naturally very energetic; they wiggle and move constantly, making sitting for long periods of time a challenge. Our school is placed at the center of a low-income community, and most of my students come from a low-socioeconomic household in which English is not the primary language. My students are eager to learn, and are fortunate to belong to a school with high expectations for every child.
