In our classroom, we have special tables that encourage cooperative learning, as well as multiple seating options that allow students to spread out and work comfortably. This year our class size is increasing to 30. This means we will need one more activity table, so that every student has the same opportunity. We can also use some more seating options, so there are enough choices for everyone. When given a task, students will be able to choose a seat where their learning will be successful. The flower activity tables are ideal for group tasks, as they make it easy to work together and share materials. The lap desks are an ideal choice for students working independently, and prefer to work on the floor. The desk portion can be used to place books on for reading, paper for writing assignments, and Chromebooks for a variety of projects. I have seen how using a variety of seating options has positively affected my students’ ability to be successful learners! This project will help ensure that every student has an equal opportunity to grow and learn.
