My students are an eclectic bunch. Every personality is different and their needs are diverse. Some students are perfectionists, and are paralyzed by the fear that they may not get everything right that they don't start. Some students have low self-confidence and find any material that I give them, before even giving it a chance, too difficult and not worth trying. Our school is a very rural district with limited local resources aside from the school. Students sometimes have a difficult time relating material to their real lives, which is essential for long-lasting learning. This is why I'm convinced that a subscription to Science World and Scholastic Math will provide them with engaging material and resources to help take their learning to the next and most important level -- relating it to their lives!
