Our school is in a low to middle-low income area. We have a very diverse student population. We have students from many different cultures and ethnic backgrounds. The diversity we have here is a wonderful resource to rely upon as an art teacher. Students are able to express their beliefs and heritages through the medium of clay and everyone is able to learn more about each other. Many of our students have to work full time jobs outside of school and we consider our pottery program as a resource to them to have an opportunity to get away from the stresses of life and express themselves in a new a different way.
