My students need materials to help foster their critical thinking skills. The STEM Bins will help students use materials to create solutions to problems that can be presented through fairytales we read throughout the year. Not only will the bins help students be problem solvers, the bins will give my students the opportunity to use the materials to create different kinds of things. The STEM Bins also come with cards to help challenge the students with their critical thinking.
Students this year have a deficit in their fine motor skills that the LEGO blocks can help alleviate. When students use the LEGO blocks they are working on their fine motor skills by pinching and grasping. Increasing fine motor skills will increase handwriting skills and help students focus. LEGOs will also be used for STEM projects throughout the year. Students will be able to use them to help aid our science standards for motion and classifying objects.
The robot will help students practice and learn basic coding and collaboration skills.
