I was given the opportunity to attend a training a few summers ago. This is where I learned about balance/wiggle cushions. Due to a limited budget I was only able to obtain a few of these for my classroom. It was amazing to see the difference they made. The students loved sitting on them! I liked the fact that it gave them the opportunity to wiggle/move while not bothering others. My previous classes have asked for more of these, but due to funds I have been unable to purchase more. I would like for each student this up coming school year to have the opportunity to have one. I know that second graders enjoy playing educational games that requires them to get up and move. For this reason I am also requesting bean bags, and pedometers for my class. I am hoping to be able to give my students healthy snacks. If my project gets funded I am hoping I will be able to give them healthy snacks, get them up and moving more, and allow them to balance/wiggle when they are sitting in their seats.
