All of my students are bilingual or currently learning English as their second language. Our neighborhood school is in a large city and provides education for over 1,000 students, the majority of which come from low income families. I teach 4 different classes a day - 6th, 7th, and 8th grade Math, and 7th grade Social Studies. I have the opportunity to rent out these materials from my school on a daily basis, but they are not always available or ready in time for all classes. This inconsistency makes it difficult to plan around and disrupts the routine of the students. When our classroom does have access to these materials, though, the students are excited, enthusiastic, and ready to learn. I would like to create that atmosphere every day, instead of just sometimes.
