My students live for chess. They play every free moment they get, including lunch and recess. This is the second year that we have had a chess club at our school, and the players are really embracing the game at a competitive level. Any chess enthusiast can list endless intellectual and emotional benefits of the game on a student's life. Supplying our club with these chess clocks will not only help them prepare for the tournaments where clocks are standard equipment, it will bring the skills of time management to their games and their lives. As adolescents, building time management skills on the chessboard will contribute directly to academic success.
