Every student who walks through my classroom door becomes part of my Ohana—my family. Inspired by Lilo & Stitch, our classroom embraces the message that Ohana means family, and family means nobody gets left behind or forgotten. This is more than just a classroom theme; it is a promise we make to one another. We learn together, support one another, celebrate each other, and make sure everyone knows they belong. Throughout my 20 years of teaching in this district, I have always tried to give my students more than academics. I want them to know they are cared for, valued, and loved. I often purchase classroom materials myself because I want my students to have the tools and experiences they deserve. When you donate to my project, you are providing much more than classroom materials. You are sending my students a powerful message that they matter, that their community believes in them, and that they are loved.
