Our school is a high poverty school. Over 80% of our school population qualifies for free or reduced meals. Many of our students only leave our county when we go on our 2 field trips per year. Therefore, it is imperative that I bring the world to them through the world of nonfiction. They love the knowledge they gain from these texts, and I love to see their faces light up with excitement.

About my class
