We do a lot of movement in the music classroom - this helps students internalize steady beat, tempo, dynamics, mood and so much more! The large stretch band will be used by k-2 classes to experience music more fully as a whole group. The chromatic boomwhackers will allow us to play a wider variety of music in our room. Beautiful music makes beautiful children. Research has shown the benefits of being involved in a music environment because it aids in reading, cognition, and creativity. These supplies will aid my classroom in so many ways. This year we are performing Edvard Grieg's "In the Hall of the Mountain King" on boomwhackers, but need some sharped notes for the melody. This set of boomwhackers is just what we need. There will be other melodies that will require these notes as well. The stretch band will be used in singing, moving and internalizing steady beat, pitch, tempo, dynamics. It is a dynamic teaching tool!
