Exposure to early literacy has been known to give students the skills they need to be good readers. These materials will allow my students with special needs to have multiple differentiated instructional opportunities to learn the skills of reading and instill their love for books. My students do not all learn the same way and need to be able to interact with many different literacy materials. Struggling readers often become frustrated, but by giving them fun and engaging opportunities to learn, they will grow as learners and feel successful. Multiple modalities of learning will help my students to be life, long learners. The Reading Comprehension Bundles for Kindergarten and First grade allow for differentiation among the students I work with, and the Storytelling Kits allow for the students to use manipulatives, visual, auditory, and tactile experiences while they are learning to comprehend the text.
