My students are ages five to seven and in grades kindergarten through second in a self-contained Autism classroom in a public school. My students needs are very diverse in which our classroom supports all range of developments. I have a lot of support in my classroom with two wonderful teacher assistants. My students struggle with accessing the general education curriculum therefore, they require a significant amount of support to reach their academic and behavior goals. Overall, they are a joy to have and it's a challenging and rewarding experience to teach them! My school is in a major city where funding is very limited to help meet all of their needs.
