I work with student K-12 from the North Seattle to South Seattle. They all identify as American Indian/Alaskan Native. Roughly 90% of student’s tribal affiliations are not in Washington State there for any assistance is not available to them because they aren’t on their tribes land. I have students who enjoy anything from painting, beading, regalia making, sports, academics, reading, poetry, science, math, and so much more. We focus our attention on academics with that basic needs for students need to be met. It is hard when a student of mine needs assistance to achieve to their full potential and I can’t assist due to lack of funding.
