My students have requested opportunities for them to be physical within the classroom in ways that do not interfere with learning. Prior students have enjoyed trying out the gear that some of my special ed students have used in the room and wished that they had those resources as well. Students each year mention that they NEED to move! These resources would be great additions to our yoga and brain breaks as the students can benefit from them while they are working. In order for us to Go for Greatness, we need some great equipment to help us on our journey! The balance balls will offer my students the opportunity to stay physically engaged when they work at their seats. To keep themselves balanced they will need to use their core muscles. These chairs encourage kids to learn and practice healthy posture while benefiting from active sitting and help increase focus by keeping the body active and the mind engaged simultaneously The Bouncy Bands will allow them to have non-obtrusive foot and leg movement and wiggle while they work, which so many of them do and need.
