I am an art teacher to student's grades 6-8 who have been identified as talented in the visual arts. These are public school students who live in an area that was greatly affected by Hurricane Katrina. They are ethnically diverse and some are from families who moved to the area to help with rebuilding. Just recently Hurricane Isaac has kept us out of school for the past two weeks and I feel that this project would be an educational and fun way to get back into our interrupted school year.
