My goal as a teacher is to help all my students develop a love for reading. Reading is an essential part of life and by developing a love for reading these children will be successful in later grades. Research shows that their is a sharp decline in children reading for pleasure; connecting children to the right books is key to developing their interest. This project has a variety of books to reach the assortment of interests our students have to help make story time one of the most engaging parts of our day. Through reading they will also grow in vocabulary skills and expanding their background knowledge.
