Like bestselling authors, our writing is constantly under construction. We are a community of young authors who love to write and to share our works-in-progress aloud from the Author's Chair. Each time one of us reads aloud a story, our classmates offer three cheers and a wish to celebrate "WOW!" writing and share ideas for revision. During writers' workshop, we are learning tips and tricks for strengthening the way our stories sound. Adding a document camera in our classroom will help improve the way our writing looks. We want to take our stories to the next level, working as a team to strengthen our editing skills. With a document camera, we can look at exemplar texts. How do our favorite authors use punctuation, capitalization, italics, and other text features to tell their stories? A document camera also will give us an opportunity to share with the whole class our original writing. What better way to strengthen our revising and editing than to practice what we learn on our own writing, with the support and encouragement of other young writers? We are a community of young authors who share ideas, encourage one another, and celebrate great writing. Please help us take the next step to becoming published authors!
