Greetings!! I teach in a 5th grade Dual Language classroom with both native Spanish and English speakers and I have the opportunity to develop them into great learners before they head off for middle school. The students in my school generally come from at-risk homes. Over 95% of the school receives free and reduced lunch and many students are children of trauma. However, these students are hard workers and strive to learn! My 5th graders work hard to catch up on basic skills all the while pushing themselves with grade level standards.
