Teaching students involve more than books and paper. My students not only need time to strengthen their physical abilities but to gain socio-emotional skills that build their character as responsible and productive citizens in our classroom. Young learners in our class take ownership of their classroom by choosing a job. Having the utility wagon will allow each student to take on the role of equipment monitor throughout the school year. The equipment monitor’s responsibility will be to load the playground equipment, take it outside, and return the equipment back to the classroom in the wagon. The wagon will make it easier for the students to take care of the equipment. Each student will learn the value of work and being responsible by helping to ensure that none of the playground equipment is left outside.
