Hi! I am a teacher in SW Portland. I have 29 students from a variety of backgrounds. I LOVE my job. I encourage students to ask questions and wonder about the world around them. Last year we built a school garden and we use that space as much as possible. Engaging students by tapping in to their natural curiosity and using innovative teaching strategies are my guiding principals. Redefining our "classroom" to "studio" is one of my goals for 2015. Creating a learning space that resembles what kids will experience in their work/ living space in the future better prepares them for the skills they will need to be Future Ready. A redefined studio also provides for different learning opportunities and creative learning spaces. I am excited to transform our room and promote 21st century learning.
