We think it's important to celebrate all cultures, lifestyles, and backgrounds. We want to embrace the social and emotional components that may not come across in a typical classroom setting. We would like to add these books to our collection so that all readers can see themselves on the pages in their hands. The books that we will be adding to our collection will provide readers with stories and narratives that address issues of race, mental well-being, and identity in ways that are purposeful and evocative. We will also be able to reach out to our ESL population with the addition of popular books that have been translated into Spanish.

About my class
