For the last two years, I have had the luxury of having a classroom Chromebook cart that has allowed me to provide students with the opportunity to partake in a blended classroom environment. However, the free headphones that were provided by the district have been worn down due to wear and tear over the years. So I am looking to provide a new set of headphones that will be of higher quality, in hope that they last for more than 2 years.
Research has shown that providing students with a truly blended classroom allows for multiple avenues from which they can learn, as well as best set them up for success. My classes frequently work on modules that are done via Canvas, and oftentimes have videos embedded throughout. By having headphones, students can go at their own pace, while minimizing the number of distractions that would occur from overhearing the videos from their peers' computers.
I also, very much, look forward to being able to utilize the audio feature for when students take assessments on the computer. This will allow me to provide students with their "read aloud" accommodation without having to send them to another testing location with a classroom aide.
