Our students come from primarily low income homes in a challenging neighborhood. Our program is a Dual Immersion Model in which the students are expected to read and write in English and Spanish by the end of Fifth grade. Kindergarten is 80% Spanish and 20% English. The percentage taught in English increases every year until it is about 20% Spanish and 80%English. This program can be a challenge for many of the students that do not have support and technology at home. In a world that is changing quickly, those that do not have technology at home are faced with a disadvantage. With an ipad in the classroom, I could try to bridge that gap.

About my class
