Watching my students dive into reading is an extension of the energy my students show all day, every day. Many of my students do not have access to books at home, so the classroom may be one of the few places they get to experience text and literature. Every book they are able to read and experience has a lasting impact. We have a small library and the students have already devoured the majority of the books this year. They get so excited every time we get new books, and are always asking when we will be getting more. Our school is a special education setting, and we work with students who struggle in the typical setting. Our therapeutic model allows students to succeed academically and emotionally.

About my class
