I switched grade levels this year and need to build and reinforce my classroom library for the grade level I'm teaching now. My students need to have access to books about science and geography as well as narrative and biography and many other genres. I need to provide them with as much variety as possible to ensure that all students begin a love affair with reading. These books were chosen because they represent a collection that is diverse and meets them at their current reading level, while urging them into the next. They can choose what interests them from classics to new and diverse experiences and genres in order to help students build background knowledge in a variety of areas.
