My students are as diverse as my school. About half of our students are considered minorities and a majority of our students qualify for free/reduced lunch. My school has over 20 clubs and sports; at the beginning of each year we have a club fair to encourage students to join at least one after-school activity to promote a positive school environment. I switched to teaching TV Productions this year since our students were in need of a teacher and did not have a TV Productions course last year (due to needing updated technology). My students are itching to complete products at their own pace, to film and edit a project as quickly as their minds move. Our technology slows down my innovators and creators. I have students who hand-crafted their own inventions, so they could produce a commercial advertisement within one or two days, however our technology stretched the timeline to a week. I can only imagine what more time, because of efficient technology, can allot my students to create.
