Relationships, Relevance and Rigor! Imagine a classroom where a teacher is really an advisor and develops a completely individualized curriculum around students' interests. Welcome to my advisory! As an advisor to sophomores, I 'teach' my students all subject areas. My charter school does not adopt traditional textbooks so I need some more resources to add the academic rigor of our three R's. The majority of my students live in poverty and can not contribute financially for basic classroom resources like dictionaries. Our goal is to get all of our students attending universities when they graduate, so we start college prep and visits when they are freshmen.
