I am teaching at a Title I school. A majority of my students are English learners who come from low socioeconomic backgrounds. As I have gotten to know my students, I see that each of them has their own love for learning. I have also come to see that a lot of my students have gaps in terms of their education. A large majority of my students are struggling in terms of reading, but I can see that reading is something they enjoy. My school is filled with students who love to learn and I am always happy to see their smiling and excited faces. My students especially love when I read aloud to them. They also enjoy following along with me as I am reading to them. Their favorite author is Mo Willems; most of them know his stories by heart.
