My students are from a low socio economic community in Southern California with a diverse population of African Americans and Latino students. These students are enthusiastic learners without the materials needed to compete in our technological society. Most students do not have computers or video equipment at home and very little is used in the school. This project will introduce students to uses of technology that generate an understanding of Earth's Science. Teachers were told at the beginning of the year that there would be no more distribution of art supplies including construction paper due to no money in the budget. My students are enthusiastic and ready to be motivated to learn more Earth Science through creative and interesting applications of content. Film and a hands-on recreation of the Earth's interior will bring these students to a greater understanding of the Earth's interior and an experience that will be lasting integrating literature, science, and Art.
