My classroom is a high-quality NC Pre-k program that serves four year old children, who are at risk and prepares them for success in school. The children attend a full school day (6 1/2 hours per day), full school year. I have 18 students in a small classroom within a public school. The children are introduced to pre-k skills to prepare them for kindergarten and structured environments. They learn through play in centers (math/science, writing, computer, music, dramatic play, building, manipulatives, art, water/sand). The children are introduced to early literacy skills as well as self-direction.
