Our school piloted the very first Project Based Learning second grade class. Myself and another teacher have 50 students. The school has very little funds for regular teacher supplies and student materials. We lack many resources to support our Projects. We are a Title 1 school, over 85% of the population gets free lunches. Many of their parents lack higher education therefore there is little to no educational support at home. Most of the students learn best by doing. They have a very low attention span, therefore we create many hands-on experiences for them to keep them engaged throughout the school day. That is why we are asking for these STEM learning materials.
