My second grade students are a very diverse group of students. I have beginning readers ranging up to students that are three grade levels above their level. They come from all different types of backgrounds and cultures. I also have several ELL students in my classroom. They seem so excited about reading, but my choices are limited in my classroom. My school is a very positive environment that is struggling with engagement. I think that by providing high interest titles that would assist in achievement and engagement. Our district has a high percentage of free and reduced lunch. A lot of the students don't have many books to read at home. These books will help them see more titles, provoke interest, and give them more books to read.
