To make a healthy community we need equipment to set the tone that leading a physically active lifestyle will benefit their overall health. This equipment will be used to benefit our urban population. Our students need to move since they live a sedentary lifestyle once they leave our school. At this point our students are playing basketball with either their own balls or ours that no longer have grip. By having new equipment in our gym we will have an opportunity to play games that they wouldn't otherwise play. We would like to introduce them to different sports beside basketball. We are asking for volleyballs, footballs, hockey sticks, a pickle ball set, and other types of equipment so we can get our students moving. Research has shown that student's memories are improved when they are active. Our students keep asking to play particular sports or games and we can't because we don't have the proper equipment. We would greatly appreciate any help so we can expose our students to sports/games that they wouldn't otherwise get an opportunity to try. Being able to expose them students to a variety of different sports/games will enable them to lead longer and healthier lifestyles.
